    G'day Myners.

I've kept pretty quiet on this issue so far but I'm going to shed some light on the situation. The Casino recently after we released it has become a point of controversy, some people love it, some dislike it and some have no opinion one way or the other. This however is actually the 3rd Casino that that we have built.

The first one started back on the old server and never really took off. Once the update came that forced our hand with the new map it was lost to the ages along with all the systems that were developed for it. With the overhaul of how command blocks were done new systems had to be invented, thus we enter development of the second Casino.

The second Casino was started shortly after things were settled with the new map, along with discussions (hours and hours) of prizes, preventions for gaming the systems and implementation. Originally the concept was when you won a prize you would be teleported to a prize room with your winnings and select a prize. For this we faced a multitude of problems with abuse for which we tried many methods of prevention. After months of work along with design issues and potential exploits it was decided we'd start again.

So along came Casino version 3. This version of the Crafty Casino was simple in design, a big open area lots of games, tonnes of prizes and none of the issues that the second casino faces. Both Baron and Rnc poured alot of their free time into this casino along with many hours again of discussion for Vendors, prizes and the rest. By this point we are now 3 versions in and each has had a new command block overhaul.

So what we have eventually arrived at is a project a very very long time in the making. Expectations for a project this long in the making are naturally going to be quite high, leaving many people disappointed. This frustration is vented and the people who have been poured time into this project are naturally taken aback by it.

By no means are we saying it was a perfect release, things didn't work quite the way that was intended and we rushed to fix problems as we were made aware of them. I myself broke 5 of the slot machines within 2 hours of the casinos release pending changes. Spending a further 7 hours across the same day with my head buried in lines of commands. The next day the roulette machines were changed, causing unrest within our player base but again a nessecary change, as they too were not working as intending.

This all aside we do listen to you guys, we hear your concerns, your ideas, your griefs and feedback. We've run tests, engaged in discussions and arrived at various solutions for issues arising.

Even now construction is under way on the second floor of the Casino. New games are in development and command block design has already started.  There are an overwhelming ammount of ideas we would like to implement and we will try our hardest to achieve them. You'll also notice that spawn too is currently undergoing a revamp as well. All these things we are doing to continually improve your experience on the server.

We would love your continued feedback, ideas and support going forward and together we can achieve something great. If players wish to make a post about how upset they are, that's fine too, everyone is entitled to their opinion. I would simply ask that on top of the words of critism, maybe add some suggestions for improvement. You could even add some words of encouragement/appreciation to those spending countless hours working on this project and many others like it.

Wonderful response and write up. I think we can all agree that us the players within the Craftymynes community appreciate all the hard work and dedication that the staff puts into the server and our experience. And we can understand the frustration that staff members may feel towards those that offer criticism.

I've already made my concerns heard in another thread, by doing so i'm sure to have rubbed at least a few staff members the wrong way. Nothing new for me and i certainly do apologize if i angered anyone. However, at the risk more issues i'll propose that staff reduce the amount of slot machines down to 10 instead of 30. Have each slot machine with a admin weapon and change them up once a week as i believe is already occurring. This would allow at least a few players the opportunity of receiving an admin weapon as well as create more room on the first floor for more games. I would also suggest lowering the cost of buying craftycoins from the casino. Prior to the casino release i bought craftycoins at 1 diamond per coin. Through many various trades i gained a total of roughly 20 stacks of coins. I'm not suggesting the casino sell them for the same price, only that staff take this into consideration. I would suggest maybe 3 or 4 d per coin.

Im sorry, but you're telling me that you want us to trash 6 months of work just so you can get the collectables easier?
And absolutely not on the cheaper prices since they already exist, you just haven't bothered exploring.

  6. I wish the heads were cheaper. 2 stacks of coins is not worth it.

You ask us to provide you with suggestions and this the response i get. What happened to,"We would love your continued feedback, ideas and support going forward and together we can achieve something great."
Where's the conversation? This is just a slap in the face. Why are you attacking me for making a suggestion as requested? You obviously don't want feed back, and after this post i will say nothing more about the casino.

I wasn't aware it took staff 6 months to make the 20 slot machines i suggest to be removed. However, my guess is perhaps under 10 players on the server even have the coins to get one of these collectables at this time.

I wasn't aware coins were being sold in the casino for 3-4 diamonds per coin. If, so it's a recent change. I'll go look now.

Edit: Ok, so took a trip to the casino. Yes, i see the price has recently changed to 4.5 diamonds per coin. I believe that is a much more reasonable price for the craftymynes community.

  8. Yeah they are sold.

  9. The original post by Logan brings up excellent points and addresses some concerns I myself had. The rest of the posts (including mine) are slowly deteriorating into chaos. Most players will agree that we all had high expectations of the casino that were most likely unreasonable or straight up impossible. In conclusion, let's all have reasonable arguments and try to enjoy ourselves. This is a game after all.

  10. The collectables are rare items they aren't supposed to be easy to get or for the majority of players to be able to grind quickly.
It would defeat much of the purpose of them if they were not.

  11. personally i think the casino looks beautiful

but im just a dood who uses crazy colors in his builds too

    kbye

  12. Compelling points but no one wants to travel a 50k blocks just to meet up with a friend, It kinda tethers people in parties together rather than coordination which is always bound to be bad at some point

  13. I just have no Crafty coins lol

  17. I think everyone on this server, including me, is spoiled by how amazing everything is... so when they see something they're not a huge fan of they throw a fit.

Also, before you post a rage post, remember it's impossible to please everyone, especially with so many players, so many opinions and so much diversity.

  18. From what I've heard in chat in game and read on these posts, I'm far more disappointed in the players than the casino. Personally, I love the casino, even with them making it more difficult and balanced. When I first found this server, I came on expecting an ordinary vanilla survival experience, but what I got was a thousand times better. I found a community that cares about each other and a place where I could have some of the most fun I had all summer, and it really has been some of the most fun I ever had being on this server. In concern with the expectation of the casino, yes, I hyped it myself and had high hopes for what it would be and waited eagerly to see its release. When it was nerfed, I was a bit upset, but then again, it was for the best. How boring would it be if everyone just hung around the casino all day grinding for prizes and not surviving and building the way vanilla survival is meant to be played? Besides this, my point is that the admins did a wonderful job and we should be thanking them for everything they have done, not criticizing them for not pampering us like spoiled children. So maybe, in my opinion, we should try and be a little less critical and get back to being the ridiculously nice community I remember us being. And to all the admin, whether you worked on the casino or not, I just want to say Thank You for everything you have been to the server and giving us one of the best possible minecraft experiences out there.

  19. ^ :D

  20. Personally, after not playing for several months, I think that the casino is a great new addition, however it could use a tune up. For starters, we need a better way to prevent anyone taking voter's prizes with the use of invisibility potions. Second, maybe some signs for newer players. Finally, while this may be an impractical idea, my favorite thing in any game is opening crates, and winning a key to a crate with a random prize would make my day.
Just opinions but overall I appreciate the casino and wanna say thanks to Crafty, the mods/admins and all the contributors for working so hard for this new feature!

  21. Why do people have to write really long ass paragraphs about this shit
