    My impression is that totems only practically protect you from certain kinds of damage. For instance they aren't going to be great against void damage, which is actually the number 1 thing I would like to have them for. God gear and pots will protect you against almost everything else.

    @ZenithW How was the poll look like when we reset 1.8???

    There was no official poll for the 1.8 -> 1.9 reset. People said their opinions on the forum; Crafty made a decision (or maybe staff voted IDK). Ultimately a number of factors made a reset inevitable sooner or later. Eventually we'll need a server reset again, but it's somewhat up to community whether we have hit that point yet.

    @bSan420 I'm kinda lost

    so we can't craft enchanted golden apples using 1 apple & 8 golden blocks?

    Notch apples haven't been craft-able since 1.8 xP

    @R4iscool1 That's wrong though.
    A different computer on the same connection will still be banned.

    R4 is correct. Routers allow multiple computers to share a connection. Easy to test, just check your public IP from multiple devices and you can see for yourself :)

    pand1024 posted in What is ip ban?.

    If you google "ip address", google will show your public IP address. Every website you visit and Minecraft server you play on sees a connection from that IP address. Someone who is IP banned from Craftymynes can't connect to the server using that IP address regardless of what Minecraft account they use. This stops people from simple buying a new account and rejoining the server after they are banned. Now some people try to get around this using Proxies and VPNs. These services substitute their IP address in for your IP address. Proxies and VPNs will cause lag so it's better to just connect from your real IP address. Another risk is that these IP addresses may already be banned, so before you go playing around with free internet proxies, know that you can get yourself banned that way. Conversely if your real IP is banned and you are using a proxy to connect from the same account you just burned that IP address, and If you make a new account, connect on an un-banned IP address and for whatever reason your connection to the proxy fails and your computer falls back on your real IP you might have just burned both the clean IP address and the fresh Minecraft account. Moral of the story is just to follow the rules in the first place.

    What is the best way to obtain ghast tears on the server these days?

    @cepheid I'm using OBS, but it was my first time ever recording so I may not be the best person to ask about it

    OBS is great for minecraft recordings. Lot's of popular YouTubers use it for their videos. It's free, open source and cross platform.

    Also, do you know what failed? If it was the hard drive, replace it. If it wasn't, now you have an extra 2.5 inch hard drive. Also, if it's the software, do a fresh install and keep on using it :)

    +1 for desktop if it will meet your usecases. Minecraft needs lot's of cpu so single threaded performance benchmarks is something to pay attention to . M.2 pcie is amazing. DDR4 is also pretty sweet.
