Mojang went too far in fixing the issue; the "fix" mixed with mob capping in CM, makes for terrible spawn rates, which makes for a very sad Nai. D:
Yeah, I highly doubt any of this happened exactly as you recount it. You would've been warned before being kicked or banned by a member of staff, and they certainly wouldn't have banned someone for commenting on the lag. There must have been other factors, that you are leaving out.

I'll take a look at this ,but from what I'm seeing, gnembon is saying that the cross-shape design is only spitting out 19k guardians per hour, with a 25% loss rate, of that. I built his design to the letter and we're only getting MAYBE 100 spawns an hour... MAYBE, mostly likely, half of that.
In all seriousness, I'm not entirely sure what the prices are right now, since I've noticed a lot of users don't work with emmies anymore

If you are having issues, it's your design / your understanding of spawn mechanics. In general spawner-less grinders are more difficult / time consuming to make.
Making a Grinder from a spawner is in general easier. Blazes give the most xp per mob. Cave spider spawners are the most plentiful. Zombie is arguably the easiest/quickest.
All grinders present their own unique challenges and there is a big difference between a bad and good design.
Spawn rates for guardian grinders have been messed up since 1.11 -- I know quite a bit about them and have tried 3 different designs so far and nada... spawn rates are only good for about 5 minutes after a server refresh. I wouldn't recommend building them on a multiplayer server.
That being said, if you have different or more knowledge on how to make a guardian grinder work as normal on CM, I will gladly pay you for said information! :o

What's wrong with Endermen farms? Spawn rates are terrible on guardian farms, true, but I've yet to see an issue with Ender grinders. Personally, I recommend blaze farms for even cave spider farms because you build around the actual spawner and are guaranteed spawns. Cave spiders spawners are nice because you can often find abandoned mineshafts with multiples spawners within 16 blocks of each other, and blaze farms because they give the highest amount of xp in the game (same as guardians, I believe).
If you make a cave spider farm, you can also use the drops to trade for emmies at the trading post.
