That would be a waste somewhat, I play other games such as CSGO, Battlefield 1, X-Plane 11, and Arma 3.

I've decided to buy the ti version though. I've already purchased one for $700 ($150 above the 1080 but after watching a comparison I've decided to get it because of its superiority).
