@Crafty. Then that arrangement is perfectly fine for me. My last days activity in my base is actually terraforming. The way you describe it is the way I also imagine it to be. Not an easy task but saves some of the big builders here a lot of time and thought on how to work on their builds.

I also suggest instead of the payment make it like a VIP thing but instead of the usual VIP incentives, its more of a base relocation incentive. Like instead of base reloc VIP sort of thing. Just sugar coating it I guess.

@crafty. What do you mean by full consultation with the client? As of price per chunk im ok with that. Dealing with the new seed? Im not sure what you mean.

I know people here have different views on this issue. It depends on how affected they are. Just imagine if you are in that player's frustration of losing his months work. If there is a choice like paying the server then thats a glimmer of hope. The time we all spend building in the server is the important thing for us. And i already mentioned this, It would be awesome if we can continue this to 1.9.

For me, Im willing to pay for all the efforts. My base is made up of prismarines, sea lanterns, and quartz. The redstone behind it are the stuff that I treasure most. Took me months to finish it and I keep on improving it even till the day before the 1.9 release. I dont think I can do that again. I might as well retire from MC and the server, which I dont want to do.

Well again Im just voicing MY own concern about this.

I watched a movie "A man from earth" and it said there that man even if he lived for a 1000 years couldnt be ahead of his time. He will always be less than the greatest of any generation. I'll choose 10 100 years so I could have 10 attempts to be the greatest.

True. Mine was like a 320 diameter circular base with a guardian farm in the middle. Dont care also of the items - gold, gapples and so. Just the time that I used to build my structures. That is more precious than any stack s of gapples, diamonds or shit.

Thus, continuity. Yeah there would be new players, they will start at some point and work their way up. My point is we are old players and worked our way up, we've been there. Im just saying that it shouldnt be just because we upgrade to 1.9 we abandon everything we built. We are the same community CraftyMynes. And dont say we still have the 1.8 server, I just stated that eventually will die. I know reset sucks for everyone, especially old players. Thats why Im suggesting this possibility.

IMO, eventually the old server would die. Thats always the case with updates. My wish is there should be a way to copy paste part of the base, like the suggestion of Discordia above. Im willing to shed a few bucks than to spend all the weeks/months of work. Some players here are hardcore builders. That way there would be continuity of our work.

Sounds logical to me. And I agree to Eberk's suggestion. Cause I was VIP+ but Im thinking of just staying as VIP, practically, because the value of my next VIP+ is not the same as my first VIP+. But with this I, without second thought, could just purchase my suceeding VIP+ easily.
