Just start simple. Make a filter for two then three, then you will not notice youve made for 20. This is the tutorial i use. Its the basic mechanics for item filtering. From here you can make your own layout.
Make some rooms/area similar to mine - a central auto sorter storage, a library for your books, a treasure room. An autobrewer and an auto smelter
My 2Cents
... Think about all the mobs that can all of a sudden modify blocks each in their own unique way.
- Creepers
- Zombies
- Endermen
- Ghasts
- Withers
- Ender Dragon
- Rabbits
- Sheep
- Villagers
Thanks Crafty for sharing your opinion on this matter. I would also like to express my appreciation for clearly expressing your view from the command block/owner perspective. Though I can say that there is not yet a definitive answer from your post, I know you are leaning to the decision to just leave the mob griefing setting to its current state.
But Ill be repetitive to highlight my argument when I started this thread, from my perspective as a player (Im not saying for the whole player community), this is what Im missing, those mobs interaction/ AI that are removed because of the mobgriefing = false settings. This decreases the PVE element of the game. And as an end game player Im trying to squiz all that this server can still offer me.
And yeah maintaining the spawn area is really important to attract and be competitive especially for new players. But IMO once the player leave the spawn and create his own base and home, he will care less of the spawn area and more of his own "survival" gameplay. Again these are all my opinion as a player. And I would like to reiterate that I really appreciate what the staff are doing maintaining the spawn area and the server.
@Dennari43 So your argument is basically scrap everything CraftyMynes is about, everything staff have worked so hard to create for us, everything that rides the line of vanilla but not "original," and go back to pure, survival only, anarchy inducing, vanilla that can be compared to playing solo, except of course for your tps you so desperately need.
Well I see the spawn area as one big base with its features (casino and all). But I spend most of my time in my own base and so its limiting my experience that this setting is disabled.
I really want to hear now Crafty's opinion...
Ill buy 4 double chest of various wood type
Kumusta (how are you, in my language) And this should be in "off topic" section?
@Cileklim We're not "many people" but I'm pretty sure a lot of players would like to play CM in a more realistic way.
Especially Wither, which was supposed to be extremely hard to beat without multiple players in vanilla.
We're here to address the fact that some, if not all, of your player base likes the paranoia feel creepers give, and wants to play the game as pure as possible.
Exactly what Im trying to point out. Disabling mob griefing removes a feature which is designed and supposedly be there in vanilla survival. And because of that we cant do the things that is related to it (e.g. wither, auto farms, snow, creeper paranoia). "Zero" possibility because simply we remove it.
Now on the other argument that its because of "disliked creeper explosion" or "ruined spawn" Im pretty much sure we can do something about it. Solutions that we can do.
Again Ill make this a comparison, so I could be "more" objective.
Mob griefing on
Problem: creeper explosion and ruined spawn
Solution: There is (Ive already point some in my earlier post)
Mob griefing off
Problem: no auto farms, weak bosses, reduced vanilla experience
Solution: nada! Just live with it that you cant do these things (which pains me)
I hope I made a clear argument.
P.S.
R4, I dont know why you have the impression that I dont appreciate staff effort. If you mean that because I opened up all the other arguments that I think are relevant and not focus on cleaning the spawn argument, which is just one issue, then I apologize for not being that clear. My post is just to show the "other" arguments and to gather the opinion of the community. I played a lot of time in the server that I feel all these "other" arguments are valid but not clearly expressed. This is what Im trying to show. Of course I have my own biasness. Im pro mob griefing (thats why I started this thread) but I tried to listen to the other side (thats why I also list them and make comparison). I hope you could also listen to the other side.

Im looking at this on a pros and cons stand point.
Cons mob griefing on:
Work around:
///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Pros mob griefing on
Work around:
This is funny but the work around is just dont build them. lol.
For a builder like me, I'm missing a lot. And for the cons, I believe you can look on the positive side. Creeper explosion and noobs griefing is part of vanilla experience.
And i believe the community would agree on these list of pros and cons. And i believe from this list there are more pros than cons.
Im just trying to be more objective
Well i feel like we are going back to this single "take care of the spawn" issue, when Im pointing out is the limting aspect of the mob griefing being disabled. Dont takw me wrong I really appreciate the work done in maintaining the spawn but its the gameplay im pointing. As i enumerated above, we are missing these gameplays in our current settings. I could agree with firespread disabled but mob griefing could make our gameplay complete.
