Apologies in advance, I had torn down a bunch of my base in the past few weeks to use the materials to support other projects, but the core of it is what you see here. Initially I just ran through this area with only the intent to save a video to reference after the reset, but this is the answer to some of the folks who had been feeding me iron over the last several months. @_Drachenzorn_ @ZenithW (can't remember the others, I'm sorry)
First bit was my storage area - a ton of wood and iron went into this alone - I lost count at 10,000 iron ingots and never bothered with counting the wood. There are sublevels that the chests drained into.
At 2:40 is my shulker grinder that I had been working on. It was mostly operational but I had some final touches to make, namely moving all the blocks beneath the hopper timer up one on the y axis, so I could remove the glass covering the top layer of the spawning area to maximize efficiency. Was a nice challenge, took me about 45 minutes to design in SP, and 8 hours to build on CM (90% of that was cutting back the rock).
Imo, the magic meat could stand to get removed or lowered too.
Also, I wish to take this opportunity to say that it's a great idea to have vanilla villagers at spawn, but I still want to make the shameless pitch that a custom villager to take at least wheat seeds would be great. Even a stack of seeds for 1 emerald or even a piece of coal...
wow, so a tp home PLUS settable warps?
Hit me up when you get back. I'll be around to repay that loan you gave me.
I think it'd take more than a reset. A serious discussion either amongst only staff or staff and some feedback from players, as to how the new vendors would look to still be useful and keep game balanced in a way to "futureproof" against minor economy updates.
But yah, I'd like a reset again in the near future. Moreso in that I have a better chance to start with other players than ever before. And make a better base from scratch.
Cepheid was smart enough to see the immediate demand for shulker boxes in 1.11 and using advanced planning was able to capitalize. Having that type of business sense, and how he priced and displayed his grinder is a type of skillset that successful businessmen have irl. If you think about it, it's very impressive.
It doesn't matter how easy it is for him to run the grinder. He's filling a demand with at a price many don't mind paying. I say kudos to him.
I don't have a dog (or boat) in this fight other than just having genuine curiosity of the next steps because it looked like it involved the whole server.
I know staff is donating their time and energy into this and I am not saying to do anything within any time by anyone. I just wanted info. Sorry if it came across any other way I wasn't trying to ruffle any feathers.
For me, the info @Nysic just explained answered my question.
@Blackened_Dawn A winner was decided, but I am very busy and I have to do many things before i announce the winner. Please be patient, I do have a life to tend to.
Yes'um.
Who won?
- Edited for possible tone in question
I think about a year ago I was totally about more villagers in spawn, but I see the advantages of having less. It forced me to either make my own or interact with the community, both of which I think led to a more fun experience on the server. That said, I think the villagers we have now is good, save one more I desperately need that can buy all my surplus seeds and poisonous potatoes, even if for just one emerald.
Also wouldn't be against another nerf to the diamond vendor, just because of the impact to the economy and I hardly use him (so I have no stockpile of diamonds). Just please don't touch my iron vendor lol!
But it only makes sense to do considerable vendor changes if we ever reset the map for reasons @Cileklim stated.
