    @bSan420 Be careful though. When you do this they will always have the same robe colour, but not the same career. Meaning if you infect and cure a farmer, it could turn into a shepherd.
    Basically a librarian or priest will always be a librarian or priest. But anything else might change.

    You're right, trading is the only way to get them to breed with mob griefing off.

    For the 'village' doors to be valid they must have more 'air blocks' above them on on one side than the other, within 5 blocks in a straight line. So if you have doors around a hole in the roof, only 4 the doors in the cardinal directions will be valid. Also, any blocks at floor level also count as blocking the light.

    You also need to consider the village cap. Villages only breed until the number of villagers is about 1/3 the number of doors.
    You can use an infinite villager breeder to get around this. Have a set of doors (at least 6) with a villager in them. Then put the villagers you want to breed at least 7 blocks above or 9 blocks below the doors and they will ignore the cap. This works because minecraft is dumb.

    You should be able to tell if they are willing to breed when you trade with them. They give off green particles when they're ready to breed. They should do this every time you do a trade for the fist time ever.
    Then it's a waiting game for them to actually do the deed, which can take bloody ages.

    Hope you can make your villagers procreate!

    @TheDunmerRaven Well, If we take the line as a collection of molecules that simply absorb more light than the rest of the paper then that is our hypothetical line.

    Just because there's no light it doesn't mean the molecules disappear. Things don't stop existing because you can't see them...or do they... (something something matrix cat something something)

    The solution I had was drawing a smaller line beside the line so that the original would be longer.

    @_Confederacy_ got that, your turn.

    @_Confederacy_ good luck...

    The server is 200,000 by 200,000. Giving the rather big area of 40 billion blocks.
    Mapping at 10k blocks a day would take 4 million days, or just under 11,000 years, sounds fun

    On the plus side you could actually map much more than 10k blocks a day. Some rough calculations show that if you had the fastest, flashiest horse in the world ever, you could probably map the whole server in just under 200 days, assuming you didn't die of sleep deprivation, brain rot, or stinkyness from not washing.

    Better get going!

    @Cileklim pointing a magnifying glass on the line would make it look longer lol

    Inspired genius!

    Hmm, can I just add a bit to the line?

    ======================== + ========

    Or... I draw the line on a piece of paper, and then stick the two ends of the paper together to get an INFINITE line??

    The redstone and everything should work regardless of lag. Lag will reduce the spawn rates, it will also increase the time it takes for the farm to reset, probably by 20% or more (assuming the lag hasn't changed much since I last played).
    I'd also be interested to know how the drop rates are; and how much lower than expected.

    For anyone interested this video for a similar design explains pretty well what the redstone is actually doing and how the villages are created:

    I think someone actually built this design on the 1.8 server, and also complained of low drop rates.

    NutjobBob posted in Enchant tables.

    Enchantments are calculated from your "enchantment seed" which is a random number and changes each time you enchant something.
    The actual enchantments are decided based on the seed, what is being enchanted, it's material, and the enchantment level.
    I guess you just got lucky (or unlucky maybe) with having the same enchantment several times in a row. That or you found a bug.

    Just try doing level 1 enchants to see if any of them change.
