You could swap the melons with glazed terracotta if you want something a bit more fancy :)

If it works how I think I suspect it might be something to do with the repeaters lengthening the pulse from the clock, very difficult to tell from the screenshot though.

Assuming no-one else has helped you out you could you show a bit more if the redstone (e.g. clock, slime blocks that aren't working) and is possible share the design you're using

@R4iscool1 I'm not asking how to do it, just proof that it works since I'm skeptical how someone could measure the number of mobs without command blocks.

You'll probably figure it out once you see the gif but he's using the entity cramming limit, nice and simple but very effective. Could expand it to a 2x1 area to fit more mobs, I think anything larger you might risk goin gover the server limit though

A more complicated method, but one that gives you full control over the number of mobs the spawner holds before they get killed is to use weighted pressure plates. I shared an example of how to do this a while ago.

Now go to the border in the end. And then in the nether under the ceiling :)

Yeah, It'll work great on single player. I was wondering if it would be of any use on the server or if the spawn rates will still be terrible. I suspect the latter because it shouldn't affect spawns but wasn't sure without testing.

@ShadowHunter7_ i do not know if its the same as render distance

To confirm what others have said:

On CM server render distance is set at 5 chunks (or whatever) by the server, it's set low to reduce lag, and probably won't be increased. You can't change it, changing your view distance wont affect it.

In single player your view distance does control server render distance though, so it would make a difference.

@iclutchHD a bug that for a long time

Here's the bug report if anyone's interested.
It's to do with the light level being wrongly calculated (i.e. it thinks it 0).

Shouldn't effect spawn rates though. If anything the spawn rates should be lower than on the ground. I'm surprised to see you got so many mobs up there, could be just luck or maybe there's another bug in play here. I'd be interested to see the results of some more testing on the server if you feel like it. Maybe try a mob farm at the build height and see how it runs.

@ShadowHunter7_ Whats the next best way of getting xp.

Enderman farm is nice, but will run slowly when other people are in the end.
I personally prefer a blaze farm using 2 spawners, which is more reliable, only slows down when the server is lagging, and gives you blaze rods which I think are more useful than ender pearls.
Mining nether quartz is also good.

@ShadowHunter7_ And is it possible that the problem of yhe spawn rates could be fixed by CraftyMyner

Not really, anything he could do to increase the spawn rates would cause the server to lag a lot more, and nobody wants that.

Apparently woodland mansions can fail to generate, and explorer maps will lead you to where they should be but aren't (bug report here ). The same bug report also mentions that only half the mansion generates sometimes which I've heard of happening on the server before (there's a post about it somewhere but I'm too lazy to find it).

Its possible that's what happened here - should be fairly easy for @CraftyMyner to check if it is that or is actually something else just by loading up the world seed in creative and checking at the coords (you'd have to give him the coords though :P)

For the village, it sounds like it was just raided. Especially if it was close to where a woodland explorer map leads. Killing the villagers and breaking the blacksmith chest is exactly what most people would do.

@Cankicker8 if you put string below vines you can stop them from growing

That was my first thought, but I couldn't see any string in the image above. Maybe I need an eye test but I don't think there actually is any. In the current version you actually can't use string to make vines stay in the shape of the C, R of F above because of the bug I mentioned.
I guess Crafty came up with a clever alternative.
