is the server running out of ram?

In 1.12 the render distance was only ~5.

but i complained and i think it was moved to 6?

would it be worth while to reduce the render distance until the next update?

i know some times when ram gets mostly used some operating systems start to use the hard drive as extra memory which causes applications to slow down until the application is restarted. which seems to be similar to what is happening in our server?

I do not Know if it makes much of a difference,

But I accidentally agroed pig men. and because mobs spawn so much i cannot kill all the agroed pig men before more pig men spawn.

and then i get a hoard of hundreds of pig men. all angry all path finding trying to get to me.

I am tryign to place half slabs to reduce their spawn. but i cannot fight them and place half slabs at the same time. and it has been a full day of logging out and logging in and the pig men are still agroed. i cannot get them to not be agroed :(

I wonder if the lag is consistent with people in the nether?

it might have a bit to do with villagers.

I noticed at 8 game time there was a lag spike.

then at 6 in game time there was a huge lag spike and the game crashed.

I am hoping that maybe someone can come and visit all players villages and give suggestions on how to make the villagers finding their work stations easier.

or verify that it is villages? because maybe i am just trying to find a pattern where there is none?

or it could be the iron golems in town, i had to set up a way that auto killed the iron golems because they would keep spawning and get quiet a few. maybe there are towns out there with many golems trapped in a house making the server do millions of collision calculations.

    I say leave it vanillia.

I love minecraft comes out with an update. then in an hour crafty mynes updates!

with plugins, we would have to wait months for the plugins to update. and often times the plugins do not update.

Auto kick players who are default, starting with the lowest tick count if the server tick rate goes below 10 ticks per second.

this would be my solution to the lag. limit the number of players, with a sort of white list that lets the paid players priority to the server.

or getting a ton more ram and using a ram disk to store the game so that load times are improved. warning this would subject the server to lots and lots of bad things if the power went out. but ram has much faster read and write times than SSDs. however I guess i do think some ram disks have a back up to hard drive feature. so maybe not too much would be lost in a power failure.

however i am not a computer guy. nor have i even attempted to look at hosting minecraft servers so i have no idea how practical theses suggestions would be. and please don't take them because i have no idea what the far reaching complications could be, you know the butterfly effect and all that! maybe a ram disk will use more power which will cause rolling black outs and the end of the industrial world!

we seem to have a problem with entities getting extremely high for almost no reason.

i am wondering if you can set the server to restart after every half an hour or some very short time?

if you could set the config "max-tick-time" to 1000 so that when ever the server gets too slow it shuts down and restarts?

Or do you have a way to kick players with high amounts of entities? so that once a player gets above 300 it kicks them so that the chunks un loads and despawns all the default entities?

edit: or maybe increase the render distance, so that mobs can auto despawn ? but i guess this would increase ram usage :(

edit: maybe just have a auto command to run that kill all entities command every few mins :) i guess people would lose their villagers and that would be sad :(

The trade war is getting to me i am scared. why must humans attack each other :(

why must humans get jealous. why must humans want what they perceive the others to have.

however i guess this comment on a greifing server is kinda ironic. as don't we players attack each other jsut because we can :(

so i guess humans can attack each other irl just because they can and no better reason is needed :(

The image does not really do it justice, trying to swim from the portal to the over word to the top of the ocean a person almost drowns even with resp 3 helmet :)

I just wanted to see how much of the end island i could cover with water!

    kelp grows really slowly.

and fighting the end dragon is hard; he breaks the kelp when he flies through it.

Arrows do not work well under water!
