I have a solution.

@FieryPhoenix64 Nah. On peaceful its practicly impossible to make any progress. Think about it.

No string - no bows, rods or scaffolding
No gunpowder - no fireworks or tnt
No blaze rods - no potion brewing
No slime - no sticky pistons or slime blocks
No xp farms - no reparing tools easily or getting lvls for enchanting easily
No enderpearls - no eyes of ender or tping all over the place
No downeds - no tridents or nautilus shells (no conduits)

These are just some examples, I cant be bothered to write this list all evening :P

We can ration off the existing mob drops, and there are other alternatives to gaining xp for repairing and enchanting.

@CraftyMyner This would also kill any pets people have.

Might be interesting to have a peaceful server for a bit.

The toughest choices require the strongest wills. I was unaware of this factor, but if changing it to peaceful mode creates smooth game play I'm all for it until a more suitable fix.

Peaceful mode is sounding pretty good right about now.

Any plans to combat this server side?

mass entities can be from a number of sources and were working on ruling them out before we start breaking stuff
