    @Chilled_Chaos
    Also, I have good idea. What if they made it that whenever you want to craft some thing, you have to craft it manually (laying out all the blocks separately on a crafting table) first, and then it gives you the recipe. That would be kinda cool, and I don't see any cons with it compared to this update. (unless you're a fucking noob who is so lazy to search up minecraft fences just once) This way, you will only have to search it up once, instead of having to search it up every time.

    And this is exactly how I would suggest it to be.

    @Venetorem But you only get the recipe in the book if you've made it before. You would still have to use trial and error to figure them out

    Wrong actually, "doLimitedCrafting" is the gamerule to do that. (Problem with that is even if you have the materials to make something you can't make it unless you had the proper progression in recipes). It's off by default. That means that if you have the materials in just shows you how to make everything with that material.

    I don't watch this guy but it's a good showing of how it works

    We'll still see them. Not looking at something won't make it disappear. But terracotta blocks I can deal with. the crafting guide I can't stand. Though I do think we should update obviously, I also think Mojang should get their shit together and focus on other things, not this crap. You should find out what you can create, trail and error using logic. Not just be told what to create, that'd just be boring.

    Having a map to find something isn't really finding at all

    Ok now I'm done I promise. D:

    doesn't matter what it is, or how many times it happens. People like what they're used to

    But when you provide a reason why you don't like something, you can't brush it off as "You just don't like change". If that were true, I could provide an (equally pointless) argument that you just don't like people having different opinions. My point is as previously stated, not because "I don't like change". On the extreme to prove a point; If minecraft were going to switch from sandbox to FPS, I would be opposed to that not because "I don't like change" but because it changes core aspects of the game itself. Get it now?

    @Beedobi I quite like the pink terracotta blocks

    Sure, all preference really.

    I'm gonna stop now, before this turns into a debate class, unless someone cares to pm me. I'd hate to bring this way off track.

    @GrinningBobcat
    sums up nicely what this is

    Just because we don't use them doesn't mean we won't see them. It doesn't go with the blocky simple look of minecraft. I don't think it ruins minecraft, but it is very out of place.

    Plus they look like clown vomit.

    @_Confederacy_ There isn't going to be a hard reset for 1.12 right?

    The unexplored parts of the map will be updated and that's it

    @R4iscool1 Yes unless something happens.
    It will update.

    @Dennari43 I think it's because we've come to understand recipe learning as part of the game. Learning how to craft items is a big part of minecraft, it's half the name after all. With the recipe book, the game becomes a whole lot easier on that aspect. We lose all the complexity of crafting and the required knowledge to be good at it. They're basically nerfing that entire area of the game.

    I agree. Then it just becomes;

    Mine *Fuck it we'll do the rest for you.*

    Plus, then it starts to violate the game into being too "linear" and hand hold-y. Which for a sandbox, survival game is not what you want. Part of the fun of Minecraft was discovering what you could make with your own logic and thinking, and the joy that comes when you do. Even then possibly writing it down on paper so you can remember (Like making a map of a videogame world EG. Zelda 1) like I did when I started. When a game does this it's a HUGE turn off for some people. Independence is a core part of the game and taking that independence away is to devalue the game itself. Not having to use it is a dumb argument because new players will be very inclined to use it and not get the joy of finding out how to craft with their own intuition, perhaps then finding the game boring and quitting. See the problem yet? It's like going into a sandbox and the castle already built, with the blueprint right next to it. You lose the fun of building it to start with.

    That's my view anyways.
