The area in which the guardians could spawn was too small. In single player this farm works very well. But not so much on a multiplayer server. So, i had to increase the spawning area to the largest it could be. Hence the difference in size between the two farms.

So here goes. I not much of a base builder but i do like to build farms. They may not be pretty but they work well. Hope you enjoy the pics.
