I have trouble even speaking on the subject let alone holding my tongue in chat, when i joined this server i had every intention of being as kind as possible but when i voiced a complaint about how it feels unfair to ask people to vote to be able to set home i was greeted by some real A class rudeness all around,
this trend pretty much continued from then on
I consider my self a rational person but i have not encountered any staff actually ever trying to deescalate a situation through anything but sheer force,
I was kicked for racism because i stated a FACT that is NOT controversial
xylophone teeth was given a 3 day ban for Pretending to advertise and "not being very sorry about it"
he was not rude in his ban appeal but justified his actions by saying you cant advertise something that doesnt exist, the stafff reply was that you can advertise something that doesnt exist, im sorry WHAT???
that doesnt make any fucking sense on any level.
i saw a new player join the server once they said "I have an idea" and without hesitation an admin sarcastically replied "oh sure lets here your totally original idea i havent ever heard in years of being admin". it doesnt matter what they were gonna say thats straight up just a shit attitude out the gate from staff.
staff is frequently toxic and they support each other when they are toxic and never own upto mistakes( correct me if im wrong by showing me and instance of this)
You are absolutely right i did misunderstand the way the chunks were loading but I think what i was observing in my mob farm is competing spawn spaces or something then because staying in the farm directly after a restart without unloading the chunk tends to keep mobs there for a certain amount of time
I see now that the reason they arent staying indefinetly is because i am still loosing them to the mob cap though.
I should have been more specific about the details of how the mob cap behaves, even though the mob cap is filled within a matter of minutes the difference the restarts make is that if mobs spawn into your farm to fill the cap instead of in lots of the chunks mobs spawn into outside of render distance, than the mobs tend to respawn inside the farms more untill you leave the chunk or spawn mobs into places outside of render distance
basically the more mobs respawn in "healthy places"-that is places inside the render distance cap, the more they have a chance to spawn there again because if mobs are in a "healthy" area during a spawn cycle and the cap is full thats one less mob that can spawn in an unhealthy area, so yes restarts have a weak effect normally. But if mobs are being killed in caves by players and in players farms then the mobs spawn in those places more. this is largely because of the 24-32 block ring around the player that mobs Dont despawn in, beyond 32 blocks mobs have a chance to despawn randomly and beyond 128 they despawn rather quickly
mobs failing to despawn in the outer ranges is directly the cause of the bug so restarts help people trying to keep the mobs inside the 32 block radius.
Just clarifying to help the people with mob farms and Juuuuuuuuust incase it effects Crafty's decision on restarts :3
if you went with the list of acceptable items I'd say anyone who entered with acceptable items should be able to win, i simply wouldn't include dirt in the list it could spit it back out or destroy it
as for how much effort we want to put into it i think thats upto the server owner ;)
but its a pretty unanimously cool idea.
if i was gonna design it, i'd make a pretty tight list of acceptable items and keep value of items relatively high, like you could assign a value to each item in the list and have a total value required to enter
like that way no one would put a single gold bar in.
personally though i prefer raw server performance to any command block features which might cost power to implement.
Instead of having a list of items that are not allowed maybe have an "approved items list" t hat it checks against so only conventional things could be allowed such as enchanted tools and more valuable blocks
with unlisted/unstacked non-valuable blocks and non valuable items being thrown out?
So as everyone knows there is a bug in minecraft that effects servers with render distance less than 10 (might be 9)
the bug keeps spawns from clearing out of the spawn radius of the player in the chunks that are unrendered as i understand it.
either way the hostile mob cap is hit in just a few minutes and does not go back down till the next server restart,
this makes mob farms inoperable except for directly after a restart it also makes hardmode an incredible cake walk atleast for players like myself who have been playing survival for several years
My suggestion is simply to decrease the server restart interval so that mobs are less scarce and people with mob farms have a chance to get their farms working more often than once every 3 hours.
Niceee.
name; Assaultsquid
reason for ban:Caps/chat spam
why i should be unbanned:
Yeah so i was just playing when some trolls logged in and started spewing racial slurs and spamming, i simply commented on them and said they were less like players and more like "creatures" i was refering to the fact that they were trolls
I then said "It looks like theres a group of them get an admin" because at that point several people started spamming
they were repeating the things i was saying so i think maybe someone thought i was spamming as well.
I think reading the chat log during this incident will clearly show i was not involved in any intentional/malicious spamming
