@deyahruhd An obviously rigged poll that gave predictable results due to its fraudulent nature was used to slander factions and praise others?

What a big fuckin' surprise. I wonder if this "poll" and the maker(s) of it had an agenda.

Alright. Make your own poll. Prove to me that this poll that I created was "obviously rigged". Not like that's going to be the CraftyMynes equivalent of a North Korean election. It's totally going to be a fair and balanced poll with multiple factions to vote on.

    In Game Name: Hijacked96

    Age: 16

Time Zone: UTC-6:00 (Chicago, Minneapolis, Kansas City, Dallas, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, etc).

Strengths: Probably my most important strength that I have is experience. I have had this one Minecraft account for the past five and a half years and I have run five servers in that time. They were mainly just with friends that I had in real life and it wasn't a public server.
I have been pretty active on CraftyMynes lately and I play on CraftyMynes at least two hours every day. I also actually play the game rather than just login AFK.
I come to CraftyMynes just to have fun. So I am usually laid back and chill. However, I do have my limits that I will state in my weaknesses.
I have recently started to talk more with some of the newer players of CraftyMynes, introducing them to the server and informing them of the community of players that play on CraftyMynes.
When I am given a task to do on CraftyMynes whether it is faction related or just helping out a friend on CM, I am dedicated to my work and I focus on getting it done and doing it right. Occasionally I slack off, but I typically get back to it in the future.

Weaknesses: First off: I am easily annoyed. Often times it's because of some troll. Even if I know that the player is a troll, it still gets on my nerves what they do or say, especially when they are being arrogant or blatantly lying. I'll try my best to not talk to the trolls, but it's going to be hard and it might be a problem if I'm staff.
Second: I am edgy as hell. Sometimes you don't notice right away. However you will find out eventually if you are talking to me in the Discord. I know that staff like to poke some mildly controversial jokes at each other, but I would most likely take it to a whole new level. It will most likely happen if I am in a conversation where others are joking around because I think that my edgy joke would be funny.
Third: My language is rather "colorful". While I usually follow the rules on CraftyMynes, I have the occasional problem with profanity. However I can keep it under control and mainly limit it to just the casual swearing that is typical on CraftyMynes.

Why you are Applying: I have wanted to be a CraftyMynes staff member since I first started playing on this server. I haven't had any staff role on a Minecraft server for the past two years and I would like to get extra experience being a staff member on a public server. I typically don't really care about being a staff member on any Minecraft server. However, I have grown accustom to CraftyMynes and I got to know so many more people that I wouldn't have ever met because of CraftyMynes.

Time Played on CraftyMynes (ticks): 10,289,767

Custom Note (optional): I have tried to fill out this application as honest as I could. It was hard, but I am confident that this application is as transparent as the glass that makes up the window in your room. Hope that you like my application and I look forward to a response.

Awesome Base! Reminds me of Techkinggame's Redstone house that he showed on his YouTube channel back when he liked to do Minecraft Let's Plays. Sure it's a pretty lame base by 1.12 standards, but I thought it was cool back when it was uploaded.

For the past month. I have had this question in my head: What does CraftyMynes think of it's own factions? While CraftyMynes isn't a faction server, it's obvious that the server structure and purpose is suitable enough conditions for factions to form, grow, and prosper. However, what factions can't control is how well they are received by the rest of the players on CraftyMynes. To find out how much CM appreciated its own factions, I created a poll on the forums that showed eight factions and asked participants to approve or disapprove each one. I also added an optional comment section for others to tell me of factions that I didn't include and also to tell me of which factions that have disbanded that shouldn't be included. What sparked the idea of making this poll was TE claiming to be the best faction on CM and me wanting to see if the rest of CM agreed. When I closed the poll, it had 30 responses. Here are the results:

My thoughts on the results: While I had low expectations for the results, I thought that Team Eye would have the highest approval rating. They claim to be the richest, most powerful, and overall best faction on CM. They also seemed to be rather well received by the rest of CM with the exceptions of factions TE raids. However, the poll shows that 60% of all participants disagreed with TE. While it did shock me at first, it didn't take long to come up with a theory on why the approval rating was so low. Most of those that claim that TE is the best faction are TE members themselves. This makes sense since loyal TE members would endorse the faction and would want to prolong its existence for as long as possible. TE is a faction that raids other factions for power, wealth, and recognition. So it would be hard for TE to make allied relationships with other factions on CM if they are after them.
Since TE didn't get the highest approval rating, Harvestar did instead. This is no surprise since they try to stay neutral and out of the way of any drama or other factions. Harvestar is the introverted kid that went to the same school district his entire life and stays out of drama among his peers.
Do I really have to mention who got the lowest approval rating? I put that in as more of a joke just to see what happened. The results didn't disappoint me.

What I believe I could do better: This poll was the first one that I ever did and in half an hour. I should have looked through the forums more for existing factions and waited to see if that faction still existed. What I also don't like about this poll was me being focused on minimizing voter fraud. As I expected, TE tried to bribe others to commit fraud and make as many people vote for TE as possible by promising a giveaway if they got the highest approval rating. The reason why you couldn't see the results right after you voted was because I knew that if respondents did, factions trying to stuff the poll with fraudulent responses would be able to keep track of their progress stuffing the poll. The reason why I didn't include a neutral option was because I knew that the majority of people that were going to vote were most likely a part of another faction. I figured that the results would be super controversial and it would be easier to get a higher approval rating for a faction committing fraud if a neutral option existed since it will most likely be discarded in drama related incidents. So knowing that the neutral option was going to be less significant than the other options, it only took a few responses to cooperate with fraudsters if the neutral option existed, and how it was only going to cause more drama; I removed the neutral option while making the poll.

Will I do this again? I would like to. I used to create polls for a certain community and collect data based on what question that I wanted answered. For example, while Google+ is a huge failure and a blatant copy of Facebook, I noticed that there were users that were active on the platform. So I ran a poll in a Teenagers Community asking why they were using Google+. The most popular option was because Google+ came with their YouTube account and they needed it in order to comment on YouTube videos (this was back in 2015 when you had to have a Google+ account to use the YouTube comment section). I would like to create more polls to learn more about the CraftyMynes community. I have made my first and I want following polls to be better. Expect more polls like these in the future, but don't expect them anytime soon.

@Valgys Criteria for an approval rating? Ie, Builders? Advances CM content at a higher level? Traders? Or just plain ol murderers and pillagers? Cause I can fit a different faction to each of those stats lol. Just not sure about what it means to “approve of a faction’s existence”

What I meant by approving of a faction's existence was are you okay with all of the factions listed in the poll being on CM. That's all it meant. I am not judging factions off of certain criteria based off their skills in raiding, redstone, building, or peacekeeping. This is simply because every faction is different and has various ideas on what it should do. It would be unfair to judge SC by their PvP capabilities since they are not a faction that focuses on PvP. That also means that it's not fair to judge TE by their ability to do redstone since they are not focused on their redstone capabilities.

@_Yul Nice idea, but a neutral option would be good.

    Also, please post results

Results will be posted sometime in the next two weeks. I don't know when. I just want to make sure that I get as many members of CM as possible before I post the results. I will also do it in another conversation.

@SharpSerac 1. We are the richest faction on the server, if I had to put a percentage on it we own more than half of anything considered valuable on the server

    2. We are unmatched in our PVP skills. This one is pretty straightforward, no one can even come close to our skill level except someone like Qfu (<3)

    3. We're objectively the most mature people on the server. If you can't see it, then you obviously aren't mature yourself or your take on the word has been warped beyond recognizability.

    4. We are not just a team, we are also a brotherhood. During the course of the time I've been with these fuckheads I've come to like them a lot and I'd say we're closer than any Team Eye knockoff faction could ever hope to be.

    5. We don't just play Minecraft, but when we do we don't take it seriously.

    6. Fuck Bron Bron

    7. Everyone within Team Eye can solve the FizzBuzz test! A majority of computer science students can't even solve that!

    8. We have great taste in art and literature. Shakespeare is definitely overrated, the likes of Turgenev and his epic works such as "Fathers and Sons" are much better suited to our tastes.

    9. Yes, we have Team Eye tattoos. No, you may not see them. They are for the ladies' eyes only. Even then they have to demonstrate that they can go head to head with us in PVP (but preferably lose).

    10. We are all smarter than you.

I like TE, but I think it's foolish to self promote your own faction by calling it the best. Here are my responses to your numbered list:

    1. Here's the problem with CraftyMynes: There is no universal currency in circulation within the economy. CraftyMyne's Economy is based off of bartering, so it is difficult to determine how much an object is actually worth. Make sure that you have numbers that describe wealth before you call yourself the richest faction on CM.

    2. I don't know what to say on that one other than this: Whenever I see TE raid, they are always equipped with God Armor/weapons, Every Type of Potion, Totems of Undying, and Ender Pearls. While there has to be some kind of skill factor involved, I am skeptical about how much of your victories are based on skill and how much of it is based off of being prepared to fight and the resources you have. On a raiding server, the rules restricting pvp are minimal. So it is unclear if TE's PvP skills are actually fair. We may never know for sure...

    3. Really? Is being arrogant considered mature? Because I don't think it is. Remember that pride is one of the seven deadly sins.

    4. Okay. There's no problem with being loyal to a faction and making friends. However, it's not unique to TE. I've made plenty of friends as being a part of NN. I'm pretty sure others in other factions have also made friends with others within their own factions. Factions that have managed to last the test of time like Harvestar and TE were able to do so because of determination within loyal members of that faction. I can guarantee you that even nooby factions have loyal members that are determined to make their own faction last for as long as possible form a "bond" or in your words "brotherhood". I don't see how saying that you having loyal members that will do anything in the name of their own faction makes TE a better faction.

    5. Okay . Just like 4, I don't see how that's unique to TE. I play Minecraft for fun and I don't know why else I would play this game. If you're not having fun playing Minecraft, stop playing Minecraft and go do something else you enjoy doing. It's not worth playing a game if it makes you miserable.

    6. Yeah Fuck Bron Bron! I love TE memes! They are probably the best on CraftyMynes.

    7. Is it because you told everyone in TE how to solve it? Any test is easy if someone were to tell you how to do it. Tests may also come with loopholes that can do anything from making one question a little easier to solve to flying through the entire test while scoring really high on the entire test.

    8. Okay. Read what you want to read. That's just your opinion, and we all have our own.

    9. Lol you guys take Minecraft that seriously? What about what you said in #5? Tattooing yourself to symbolize your loyalty to a Minecraft Faction is quite a serious dedication, especially since it may stay with you for the rest of your life. I know that Tattoos are removable, but you can still get scars from the tattoo removal, it may take several treatments to even get the tattoo to somewhat fade. Are you using those kids tattoos that you apply with water, come off easily, and aren't even real tattoos? If you are, that would make way more sense for a minecraft faction. I'm not against tattooing and I could care less about what people do to their bodies. It's your decision to make. However, I feel that Minecraft could become irrelevant in the next 2-5 years. Like all good things, they must come to an end at some point. I feel that while TE has lasted long and will be remembered for all of CraftyMynes history, I sense that's it end will come. It could be years for that to happen, and the server might give way before TE does. But like everything else in this world, including factions such as NN and Harvestar, TE will meet it's end.

    10. How? By claiming that all of your members can pass the FizzBuzz test? While some servers that I have universal currencies in place, no human has been able to fully grasp the concept of abstract thought and human knowledge, let alone a single Minecraft faction. While it seems tempting to try and describe/generalize human knowledge as a quantitative property, it is also a foolish assumption to make. Everyone is guilty of this, including myself. Unless you are Genie Wiley who lived in complete isolation for the first 13 years of her life, you most likely have met many people and had made some observations based on their intelligence. I have noticed that while some people may be absolutely clueless about some topics that you may have an idea about, they are rather knowledgeable in other ways. I'll use myself as an example. I'm a huge geography nerd. I have maps hanging all over the walls of my room, I stare at Google Maps for hours at a time just exploring what I can on it, I can pronounce Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch (although that has little to do with geography), I know approximately where 95% of all countries recognized by the United States are on a map, and I know about 75% of their capitals, I have followed highways to places that no one cares about, I have a YouTube channel where I design my own infrastructure proposals, and I have memorized all sorts of towns, physical landmarks such as mountain ranges, rivers, lakes, and biomes across the world. However, while I may be able to exceed the standards of the average human being, I have failed doing so in other areas. I don't like following the mainstream media. I feel out of place and like I don't belong. So don't expect me to be able to know much about our current pop songs or anything about certain celebrities.
The point is that while I am able to have cognitive abilities higher than the average human being in one area, I fail to meet the average standard among a general population in another. It's not just me that's like this, I believe that every person is. Who knows more about the propaganda that North Koreans were put under than actual North Koreans? Now here's another question: How much do they actually know about the western world? Intelligence is more often than not described as a collective when it is nothing like that. I would go as far as to say that there are different types of knowledge, but even that seems to be a foolish thing to say. You could know every tiny little detail about a graphics card yet know nothing about how the hard drive works in a computer. Drawing a line on what kinds of knowledge there are is like trying to draw a line in a body of water with a marker. It can't be done. Knowledge is just too broad for a feeble human being to define or put lines on. Knowledge is not like water where every molecule is very similar to one another. However, you treat it this way by just simply assuming that I have less of a general cognitive ability than you. It's foolish to think this way when you can learn more of one thing and neglect the intellect of another. It's trying to draw a line in the water with a marker. Claiming that TE is smarter than anyone reading this is just plain arrogance. I don't know how TE will fall, but I suspect that it will be because of their pride and ego. As I said before, all good things must come to an end.
