@CraftyMyner This server never had a 30 million border, it has been 100k since day one. It was because we were on a shared host with 512mb of ram.

I'm not sure if we're talking about the same thing. When we say server, I think we're referring to the IP rather than the actual hardware.

I recall the border of CM was immense awhile back (talking 18+ months back). I know my base was at something like 400k from Spawn. Back then when I asked the size of the border the response was that it was "virtually infinite" from the staff. There was even a player reported living over 1 million blocks away. Before TPs, TPAs, warps, and the common use of the nether roof for travel and most of the other luxuries players have now.

And to my original point, there weren't rampant raids or base discoveries back then even when players self-imposed their own travel borders to around 100k from Spawn.

@iDogeTwinkie I was on this server when it had 30m border and I can tell you it was the laggiest motherfucker of a server alive and even with the best options when it comes to gear for the server. Crafty bought the best of the best stuff and it decreased lag. Let's not mention how many people were online each day.

If it was for the increasing, I'd suggest to increase it 200k on each direction. I think server could go with almost same lag as it is now. If not, let it be as it is. :)

Lol yeah I remember it. The perma-block lag during peak times isn't something I miss. Plus, of the folks I asked, most if not all, never bothered to venture out farther than 100k except me and a couple others. So that tells me we can comfortably live in the space currently allocated, even building above ground without detection.

Don't get me wrong I want a server border so large I can't reach it, but the reality is it's a reduction of gaming quality so bad it's not worth it. If the borders can get bumped up with little to no impact to lag, I'm all for it. Until that time I think this space right now works.

Valgys posted in Fix Invisibility Potions.

@R4iscool1 It's quite hard for staff to catch invisible players, if the usage of invisible pots becomes mainstream then that represents a big issue.
There is also huge potential for spawn camping with this too which is something to be discouraged.
I'm interested to see what the non pvp community says though.

My 2 cents: For non-pvp I would see an increase in demand for gold as its crafting ingredient which would diversify the player economy (especially since the potions are one-use), but it'd turn pvp, griefing, and raiding into something I see as frightening.

The problem with it being minecraft is that many are playing without the intention of pvp. A change like this would largely benefit those very few who actively on prey on players, who would then in turn be forced to use it to protect themselves while away from their base.

I would say the use of the invisibility potion across the server would largely depend on how much the pvpers use it. Which is probably going to be a lot of use.

As much as I like the trading aspects to it, as a player I anticipate more harm than good to the server from this and would vote against it.

I don't understand the stated goal of this thread.

The market would stabilize as shulker box sellers become aware if their competition and the price would eventually settle based on supply and demand.

Price fixing in an open economy won't work especially when there's no incentive or punishment either way and the set price here isn't legally binding. This is giving others something extra to worry about.

Given the nature and availability of the shulker box it's a seller's market right now so just see how much you can get away with.

I have suggestions based on where your main or central building will be located. If in the valley, I suggest Stranger's Bluff. If the main building is on/in the hillside, Fort Talus.

@Captain_Mitchell You know it's for SP, right?

    Yup.

I put many ticks into the base. Although I like the idea of the reset, I'd hate to see it go poof completely if there's an option to keep it.

    Hi Crafty,

I've got a second location nearby I'm wanting as well.
3 chunk radius plus the chunk those coordinates sit on (so a 7x7 chunk area)
