Chinese? Interesting, also how?? The bars are only one colour each, there shouldn't be any variation in colour in each bar. How did you find colour variations?

Imagine, if you will, a rope ladder hanging off the side of an anchored ship. The rungs of the ladder are half a metre apart. The tide is coming in, and rises half a metre every hour. If 12 rungs were above the water before the tide began to rise, how many will be above the water after 5 hours?

@_Haxington_ The Caesar cipher wasn't the problem, but without some hint as to the initial settings for the enigma it's damn near impossible. Is there some indication of these I've missed?
