Tell us a bit about yourself: I’ve been playing on this server since December 2014. I’ve been hooked ever since. I really like the impressive builds at Spawn and Spawn City, not to mention seeing screenshots of the massive, sprawling structures and bases people make. It’s incredibly inspiring and has led me to attempt to build and rebuild at Spawn City. Not to mention, I’ve been known to make my own massive village and occasionally invite others to use it for resources. I really wanted to embrace my presence on this version of the server, and it’s been an absolute blast so far. I’ve also met some nice people along the way, and have enjoyed working with them, especially to rebuild Spawn City. If I had to pick one thing I didn’t like, it was the reception some people gave to me being a furry. Certain people continue to make comments, but I have come to the realization that it’s all in the name of jokes and memes. This mostly happened on the Discord server back in 2020-21. Some of my strengths are my willingness to help new players get started. This has gotten me killed a few times, but it hasn’t dampened my spirit. Also, I love to let players in need utilize my giant villages in the past, and I continue to do so once I have a new village up and running. If I had to choose a weakness, it would’ve been my initial response to those teasing me about being a furry. I took it at face value initially, and it led me to leave the discord server for a little while. But I came back in 2023 and have stayed ever since. I’ve also been working on not letting small things like this bother me so much.

Why you are applying: After 10 long years, I’ve learned a lot about the atmosphere and attitudes people have in the server. I want any new players coming in to feel as if they can trust me as Helper, since I think having a charismatic and friendly member makes a great first impression and will hopefully boost new member retention.

If you could pick one thing about yourself to change, what would it be, why would you change it and how would you change it: One thing I’d like to change about myself is improving my initial reaction to things. As I said previously, those who were teasing me about being a furry did get under my skin more than it should have. I don’t want to risk missing out on spending time in the server because of some light-hearted banter that I took too seriously. This is something I’ve been working on and continue to work on all the time. I believe that putting myself out there as a member of staff will help boost my social skills and keep the server fun and inviting.

Any additional information or notes: Over the years here, I’ve been regularly inspired by the members. Most importantly, I’d like to thank Crewman06 and Casey Fluffbat. Crewman and his big farm inspired me to be “happy to help”, as he says, and Casey and I have spent some time repairing Spawn City together. It’s taken awhile for me to trust others on this server, and I need to give the two of them a massive shoutout for being genuine and helping me come out of my shell.

I’m just throwing ideas around. If I was being completely honest, the only way I could see this server returning to its former glory is to somehow find more than just me who still enthusiastic about vanilla servers in Java. Clearly, that doesn’t seem to exist anymore.

@Zabolca I like the server just how it is. We need more challenges and competitions like Rnc has posted to keep the interest and build the community. Technically once you beat the dragon the core game is over but most MC players are goal-based: get the armor, build this, farm that, etc. Once they have done all that it starts to get dull and they fall away and starting over isn't always appealing.

I would like to see a server calendar with annual events. This would encourage others to play long-term or come back.

Build winners don't always have to have their builds put in spawn if there is a hall of fame showing all the previous winners, what they built, and that they are documented in the Forum for others to view at any time like the challenges.

Walking through a player hall of fame and seeing just who is the best at parkour, building, or killing mobs in the strangest ways would be fun and add a connection to what would otherwise just be names shown when you hold tab.

Just my 2 cents worth.

I totally forgot to respond to this directly! These seem like a ton of fun ideas. Community engagement is definitely something this server needs, and I'd love to participate and/or help run these events when I can
