Overhaul the Wishing Fountain

At the port just East of spawn, there is a small fountain and a sign that encourages you to throw your offerings to the Crafty Gods into it. Instead of it being a simple set piece, why don't you give it some purpose?

You could put a tonne of hoppers at the bottom, and at the end of every month, you could give a completely random person on the server all of the stuff that was thrown into there, like a poor-man's lottery of sorts! You could probably incorporate a sorting system that stops utter garbage from being given away (eg, dirt, gravel, flowers, etc.)

But that's just my two cents...

  2. @HaloNest Named Items can be sorted, I tried it on my own server casino and it worked just fine :)

I was talking about unique items and items with names that we could not anticipate. The only real way to sort the items would be to make the panel get the nbt data of each item thrown in and then make a decision on it.

If there was no sorting I can just imagine someone filling the chest full of randomly named items causing it to get overfilled. Another thing players could do is alternate 2 random garbage items causing the chest to fill up.

I set up sorters for my fishing hole, stackable items are sorted out first, the rest go out to the "other" chest(s) the sorters never get clogged. Perhaps you could sort out stackable wishing well items, and send "other" items to a finite storage bank. Items considered to be junk and overflow could be destroyed.

  4. Also who wins it, a random person? A person that entered? what if they just entered dirt? What if they entered diamonds? Hows that different from the normal lottery. How much effort do we want to put into it?
