RAM has never been an issue but CPU and storage have, for this reason, we are upgrading to:

2x 960gb NVME SSD's
64gb RAM
1Gbps Network

For reference we are currently using:

2x 480gb NVME SSDs
64gb RAM
500Mbps Network

We were hoping to see a major performance improvement with the release of 1.16, however, it seems like Mojang has let us down once again. For the last 6 years, we have been running the best hardware money can buy, we think that AMD is now able to provide better performance so we are going to give them a try. We want you over the next few days to closely observe the differences, is it better? worse? can you not tell?

In order to inconvenience the least amount of players the upgrade should happen tomorrow morning around 6 am PST, 9 am EST, and take about 15 minutes to 1 hour. During this time we will stop the server, migrate the map, and change the DNS. You will experience a temporary outage while your DNS takes time to update. Nothing should be lost during the upgrade.

I see 3 peak times, 8AM PST, 2PM PST and 8PM PST, based on the fact there is 3 peaks, I can say we have a diverse audience that works at all times of the day.

Usually, if we don't update right away its followed closely by a bunch of people wondering whey their client isn't working and all the new players we miss by staying back in this critical time. Mojang made it public they would be releasing on the 23rd so there was lots of warning.

grrr, I've been up since... (i don't even know anymore, something like 2 days) waiting for this release, What do you propose would be the best time?
