It’s been debated many times and in the past we have had it both ways. We did add some protection on the spawn platform, but the thought is that the end is a survival area where fights happen and you can be killed. Not extremely decided yet though...
@Xenial_Jesse Crafty, you mentioned no particles earlier. Why no particles? Just for low-spec performance?
Also, is it possible to allow only rain but never thunderstorms? It would still prevent skele horses and such, but at least tridents could be used properly.
We would have to manually make our own weather patterns, thunderstorms are what people were exploiting. There's no particles because there is not actual rain, just a way to spawn charged creepers.
@1Lysander out of curiosity how far out can these creepers be lightninged? is it only within a certain range or server wide?
All over the world.
@PapaNeon Do the creepers need an open sky to be struck?
Nope, its a summon to avoid the weather glitchers.
Charged creepers now spawn randomly!
I was just thinking of running a command that randomly selects a creeper to hit with lightning with the same chance as thunderstorms.
When we updated to 1.14 any random teleports that loaded chunks caused crashes and players falling through the world, when it was fixed with 1.14.4, we hadn't fully reverted back to the original behavior. I have set it to 5k for Default, and 10k for VIP, and 15k for VIP+.
@Inyashi Mojang pls :(
I wish there was a decent solution for this without putting additional stress on the server but it looks like we'll have to wait for Spigot and hope something can be managed from that when you get the time. I will keep murdering innocent fishes in the meantime.
You could harass mojang on twitter/reddit for a toggle/gamerule to disable fish.
@Inyashi I was also wondering is there a cap to the amount of fish that can possibly spawn? If there is, could we just put a bedrock box of water with fish to hold the cap or would that just be as laggy as leaving them around various ocean biomes?
I think there are caps but I'm not sure if its for all entities or just for fish, they have changed so much recently. Probably just as laggy or more by having them all in the same place. Also, if no one is in an ocean biome, then it would just be unnecessary lag.
@Inyashi So as long as players who live in ocean biomes actively try to keep their fish entities down we won't be punished for being over entity cap since there isn't a viable solution?
Just like the guardians, if you are actively trying we can't punish you. If an admin is on, we can kill them manually although it won't do too much.
