@Cellexya And even if he was a primary teacher, he had been helper long enough to understand most if not all rules, and those he didn't know he could easily direct you to someone who could answer. Once you are staff and have a grasp on things, it is partially your job to help train new staff. Learning isn't just restricted to admins, any rank can help you learn as long as they are providing accurate information.

    Exactly!

How about just giving an orientation for staff, then if nublet staff helpers have questions they ask a higher up?
If something is unclear or undicussed such as the use of bitch or dick being old examples then make a vote amongst the admins as a form of administrative hierarchy/seniority or have direct voting from all staff members.

I can also confirm there already is an orientation. Considering I am one of the newest players to become helper, I feel like I have a good enough voice in this topic. When I was promoted, Dawn had me in voice chat and every single question I had was answered. She walked me through everything I had to do and even repeated steps when I wasn't sure if I heard correctly. I even said how I probably had more questions, but just couldn't think of any, and she made it clear that I can ask other staff at any time if I don't understand something. Staff made it very clear what my job was and was so helpful if I needed help. And I did in fact ask questions later on, mainly for my own benefit to make sure I understand, not because I wasn't told the first time. And the major person I asked for help from was Ceph cause we were usually on at the same time. Just because I asked him step by step questions doesn't mean staff didn't give a good orientation. I think that's where some confusion is coming from. Just because Ceph helped me learn more doesn't mean he was the primary teacher. He was more like the study hall helper that gave examples to the problems the teacher already taught.

    @Silver_Sonya They think it's OP.

Yes, because they refuse to see they are wrong. That's not staff's problem.

@Silver_Sonya What I'm saying is that it's not right to ignore their opinion.

Do we look like we're ignoring it? Look at all the staff and other player comments that are trying to bring you back to reality? We're not ignoring your opinion. We're showing you reason to improve your flawed opinion.

@Silver_Sonya Amazing how you managed to understand the situation correctly but failed to make the right conclusion.

The right conclusion is that you and the few players complaining are not realizing they are being ignorant of the situation and are in no way helping. You are simply complaining and repeating the same argument over and over again. Admins and staff do not want to get rid of all the fun things of the server. But you refuse to meet us halfway, and so nothing is being resolved. Instead of throwing hate around, how about you come up with some middle ground. Otherwise, you're just another part of mob mentality.

@Silver_Sonya Amazing how you managed to understand the situation correctly but failed to make the right conclusion.

Players are saying it's OP. It doesn't matter if it is or isn't. They don't like it. End of story. Players are the ones who make this server great, they are the ones who vote for it, they are the ones to thank for it and they are the ones to speak and be heard.

It does matter if it's OP. That's what they are complaining about. Something is OP, that's the complaint. Not unique items in general, OP items specifically. When they realize it's not OP, then there's no issue. Until they do, conflict will continue. Don't twist their words when you can't seem to understand what they're saying yourself.

I don't want to, nor have the time to write a massive post about everything said, but here's something that caught my attention.

@Silver_Sonya Just an example of how community concerns are being ignored (same applies for many other complaints):
Community: We don't want to see other people getting OP or unobtainable items as bday gifts.
    Admins: They're not OP.
Community: Doesn't matter, they're unobtainable and create an unpleasant precedent.
    Admins: The player is trusted.
Community: Promise not to give such items in the future?
Admins: Such items have special vanishing flags on them.

This little played out version of how you think these conversations are going is quite off from the truth.
Here's the version I am seeing:

Community: We don't want to see other people getting OP or unobtainable items as bday gifts!
    Admins: They're not OP.
Community: We don't want OP stuff given out!
Admins: They're not OP... we said this already. Are you not listening?
    Community: They're OP!
Admins: How are they OP? We're not giving out weapons, just random items. Yes, some have effects that could be abused for very little profit, but those specifically were rewarded to generous and upstanding citizens of the server. If they were abused, we'd surely take them away, but evidence shows they haven't been. Besides that, they still aren't OP. You can't fight with them, fighting is harder with these tools. Most of the stuff we give is cosmetic anyways, which is completely allowed. We already took away the spawn eggs because we recognized that we were wrong about them. You few who still don't like this, why? Do you not want to have a fun server anymore? A lot of people leave because vanilla gets boring, so we are trying our best to give you guys a server that doesn't get boring. We are constantly adding things, and sometimes those things are items with lore or have wacky effects. But we make sure there is no actual advantage in having those items. Their sole purpose is to reward those who deserve to be rewarded for their dedication to the server. There's no need to make a huge deal out of this.
    Community: ...They're OP!

This is a bit more accurate. I'm not saying you're completely wrong. There's some validity to the argument, but you're ignoring all the staff who are explaining the situation to you. Just because some of you guys are die hard pure vanilla with no custom command items, which you claim are OP but have been proven otherwise, doesn't mean everyone has to agree with you. In the end, it doesn't even matter. This isn't your server, or my server, or any of ours server. This is Crafty's server, and if he wants to give out custom items he sure as well can.

So the issue with the birthday gift is that because she can hit people back a few more blocks than a sword, it's an advantage? This doesn't help in the case of a fight. She would have to hit them back, switch to a real weapon, and then fight. While she is swinging that around or switching weapons, the other player would have probably a sharp v sword, getting hits in and eventually killing her while she does no damage to him other than keeping him farther at a distance. It has no pvp benefit. The only chance she would use it in pvp in the first place is if she was jumped by a pvper out of nowhere, in which case being taken by surprised and killed before she probably could get more than one hit in. That is not an advantage, that would actually make it harder to fight.

Parrots will now dance and change their colors when you play a music disc near them, wild or tame. And you can make them sit down now so they stay in a certain location.

I don't think you have any right to call loggers out either. You're just as guilty.
