I didn't want this to get lost as we move over to the new forums! This was inspired by one of the most preeminent players in CraftyMynes history. He was the biggest donor, admin, and enthusiastic player. There are many other people who came before and after, who have been very important to CraftyMynes, but the wolf shouldn’t be forgotten. For all of you who ask, "who has the dragon's egg?" Here's your answer. Ah, the good ‘ole days…
The Wolf and the Dragon
Long before I arrived,
here in this World,
you were dispatched,
your spoils taken.
By the Creator perhaps,
who made this World.
Or one of his red minions,
who rule over it.
No concern of mine.
I gave you no thought.
For the World was without you,
and I knew,
the Creator would never bring you back.
My tale too is as twisted,
as the tail that trailed you.
For I arose to greatness.
Ruling the World for the Creator.
But it was not to be.
Two loves had I.
One was the World,
the other blood.
My own sins sowed the seeds of my ruin.
My thirst for blood,
my downfall.
I was betrayed,
undone and cast down.
One of my own.
But not out,
not like you.
I began again.
And then it happened.
It ended,
it stopped.
The World.
The sun did not rise,
the moon did not fall.
There was nothing,
the World was gone.
The Creator.
His Creation.
He brought it back.
He saved it.
And then it happened.
The World changed.
Now a new love,
swelled in my heart.
Better than before,
putting purpose in my soul.
You.
While other slept, I mined.
They gabbed, I farmed.
They spent hours in the Creator’s city,
or hiding in their hole.
All the while, the Nether I combed,
and to the End and back,
as steady as the sun,
were my toils and my travels.
Strength again,
riches and power.
New friends,
strong and faithful.
Gathered again.
Quickly I worked,
tirelessly.
For I knew.
The World had changed,
the Creator brought you back.
Hunting alone.
Strong and fast.
Keen focus in my eyes.
Out of the darkness,
my silhouette slides,
to your den,
with bad intent in my soul.
Moonlight glints on my coat.
I howl, I gnash my teeth.
I hear your wings,
flapping in the End.
I avoid your gaze ,
your fangs, your claws,
your fire.
Your towers are destroyed.
My sharp saber slicing,
my arrows in your black hide.
You worm.
Fear me,
for I fear not you.
I have hungered for your blood,
and I will have it.
And in the End,
I will hold up your egg,
and say to all,
I am the Wolf!
