If you lower prices by more than 100% then you start paying people to take the item (provided that you charged some amount in original pricing) for example: A normally $10 Item is now on sale 100%, it is now -$10 and therefore costs $0, if it is dropped 300% it now costs -$30 and therefore the price is -$20, if you pay for something that costs a negative amount you gain that amount.
