Would there be a way to possibly implement a sort of team chat or party chat within the in-game chat? I'm not sure of how intensive it would be to code or put in and may have already been considered many time before, but I considered bringing it up anyways.

Not possible in 100% vanilla, I am not able to interrupt the packets going back and forth so it would just end up going into public chat:

Then it wouldn't be vanilla which is an entirely other topic that has been discussed in the past.

True but it would still be a mirror image of vanilla but just with reduced lag and other cool features.
