Hey hey,
today I was flying with my elytra and with the help of my punch 2 bow, I managed to get up to 700 blocks above bedrock.
It should be possible to get higher, the only limitation is the durability of the bow or the elytra.
So I now officially claim to keep the height record on CraftyMynes. You think you can beat it? Well try it and post a screen to prove you beat me or the latest record keeper.

btw you cant see the bow in my hand since I used F5 but I cant even see myself because of the imense height, what makes the flying a bit more difficult.

I got 1000 in single player :) it's fun to do that.
I might try it on here, I just need an elytra :P

what a whole new world was just opened up for me

There used to be a boat+ slime glitch, could get u pretty much as high as u wanted lol,got up like 3.5k myself in it but it got fixed on the official 1.9 release :(

I believe the height limit is 32 million blocks, at which point your game will crash. I could be wrong though. That's just what I have heard in the past

as I mentioned, the limit is not the map or your game but the durability of your tools. So the best way is to use a unbreaking 3 elytra and an unbreaking 3, punch2 & infinity bow. Both without mending!

Take 27 elytra with you, when one breaks, switch to another, new heights confirmed. Keep your hotbar full of punch II infinity Unb III bows, and one arrow.

Challenge accepted.

The maximum height a player can possibly reach is Y=2,147,483,647, which is the largest value of a signed integer on a 32-bit system
