Overhaul the Wishing Fountain

At the port just East of spawn, there is a small fountain and a sign that encourages you to throw your offerings to the Crafty Gods into it. Instead of it being a simple set piece, why don't you give it some purpose?

You could put a tonne of hoppers at the bottom, and at the end of every month, you could give a completely random person on the server all of the stuff that was thrown into there, like a poor-man's lottery of sorts! You could probably incorporate a sorting system that stops utter garbage from being given away (eg, dirt, gravel, flowers, etc.)

But that's just my two cents...

  2. I like that idea

  3. I like the idea but sorting would be quite the task, any named item or tool would be not sortable.

  4. cool idea

I'd be willing to help sort through it from time to time if that helps @CraftyMyner

  6. Brilliant idea, kind of a monthly bonus lottery in addition to the weekly one

Named Items can be sorted, I tried it on my own server casino and it worked just fine :)

I was talking about unique items and items with names that we could not anticipate. The only real way to sort the items would be to make the panel get the nbt data of each item thrown in and then make a decision on it.

If there was no sorting I can just imagine someone filling the chest full of randomly named items causing it to get overfilled. Another thing players could do is alternate 2 random garbage items causing the chest to fill up.

I set up sorters for my fishing hole, stackable items are sorted out first, the rest go out to the "other" chest(s) the sorters never get clogged. Perhaps you could sort out stackable wishing well items, and send "other" items to a finite storage bank. Items considered to be junk and overflow could be destroyed.

  10. How about no fountain lol, seems like too much unnecessary work

  11. An item sink would be beneficial to the economy

Yes, however, with fishing you have a finite variety of items and you also dont have anyone trying to be malicious.

Instead of having a list of items that are not allowed maybe have an "approved items list" t hat it checks against so only conventional things could be allowed such as enchanted tools and more valuable blocks
with unlisted/unstacked non-valuable blocks and non valuable items being thrown out?

  14. "Crafty rejects your offering"

    Spits the item back out

  15. @TheMightyDrex "Crafty rejects your offering"

    Spits the item back out

    do that for everything lol

  16. Also who wins it, a random person? A person that entered? what if they just entered dirt? What if they entered diamonds? Hows that different from the normal lottery. How much effort do we want to put into it?

  17. You could make crafty credits be able to transform to something like enchanted blaze rods (The way you made the magic meat) and people could throw the rods in and only them could be accepted so people don't throw trash. It could possibly be like a lottery with credits and the winner gets the credits people have thrown in (all the blaze rods) and transfer them to their credit balance. If you think about it the winner could get easily an elytra by giving just 1 credit.

  18. if you went with the list of acceptable items I'd say anyone who entered with acceptable items should be able to win, i simply wouldn't include dirt in the list it could spit it back out or destroy it
as for how much effort we want to put into it i think thats upto the server owner ;)
but its a pretty unanimously cool idea.
if i was gonna design it, i'd make a pretty tight list of acceptable items and keep value of items relatively high, like you could assign a value to each item in the list and have a total value required to enter
like that way no one would put a single gold bar in.
personally though i prefer raw server performance to any command block features which might cost power to implement.
