There are plenty of things to do. You can gather resources and sell them, you can explore, you can try and make friends, you can practice you pvp skills, etc. The list goes on and on and is ever evolving as the server economy shifts and time passes. Another thought is maybe you can practice building styles and try and put your own spin on it. I'm a terrible builder as well, but I'm working on it, so don't worry there is hope :)
